Renee Ruiz
Renee is a retired educator who previously worked in the public school system as a special education teacher, principal, and special education supervisor. She completed a bachelor’s degree in special education with a minor in psychology from Michigan State University in 1998. She pursued a master’s degree in education administration from Michigan State University in 2005. In 2018 she completed her certification coursework for both Special Education Supervisor and Special Education Director through Eastern Michigan University.
She enjoys working with neurodiverse individuals and welcomes the opportunity to collaborate with caregivers and mental health providers to provide a well-rounded approach to coaching. During her time as an educator, Renee worked directly with students in middle school, high school, and with disabled adults. She has experience working directly with individuals with giftedness, learning disabilities, ADHD, autism, mild cognitive impairment, and traumatic brain injury.
Renee has worked in several school districts across southeast Michigan and is familiar with the education system in both Oakland and Macomb counties. She is a strong advocate for students, and as a special education administrator, she is well-versed in helping parents and school teams agree while keeping a student’s needs at the center of the conversation.
