ADHD and Executive Functions Coaching

ADHD or Executive Functions Coaching provides intensive individualized interventions for students (children and adults) with learning differences that might be the result of ADHD or other related conditions. Our coach is Renee Ruiz, who is a seasoned special education teacher.

While addressing learning differences and academic skills, coaching helps students understand their learning challenges, become aware of their strengths, and develop academic strategies that build self-esteem and promote self-advocacy. We also coordinate services by fostering communication and collaboration with the student’s school team or individual’s workplace, as needed.

We utilize reviews of neuropsychological assessments along with other formal and informal assessments and parent/teacher feedback to develop specific goals and learning plans for each person.  We apply appropriate alternative teaching strategies and methods to meet these goals while consistently monitoring student progress.

Skills targeted include:

  • Goal setting
    • Short & Long-term planning
    • Task initiation
    • Organization of materials
    • Self-monitoring
    • Study skills
    • Reading comprehension and critical thinking
    • Written communication
