Abigail Colvin

Abigail Colvin is a resource room teacher within the Hartland School District. As a 2022 Hope College graduate, she is certified to teach Elementary Education and Special Education with a focus on Learning Disabilities and Emotional Impairments. She has a Master’s in Learning Experience Design from Western Governors University. These have allowed her to utilize evidence-based strategies that are best for these diverse learners.
She has spent the last year and a half in the Walled Lake School District. She taught in a K-5 Resource Room where she serviced a variety of needs, including specific learning disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, emotional impairments, and more. This teaching experience has allowed her to work with a variety of students, staff, and administrators. Throughout her experiences, she has learned to work and connect with students in both the general education and special education setting. She prioritizes relationships first with all students. These teaching experiences have helped her develop strategies and perseverance to meet individual students’ needs.
